My target 20 kms
The charity I am supporting is the CHEO Foundation.
Charities need us more than ever and that is why I’ve signed up for the first-ever global, virtual RBC Race for the Kids to raise much-needed funds for youth charities around the world.
I am participating in the RBC Race for the Kids event to support mental health programs at CHEO. Your donation will ensure each patient has access to the care that will be most beneficial for them, regardless of their age or the reason for their visit.
Please consider making a donation to my page.
Thank you from me and all the RBC Race for the Kids participants and charities!
In the CHEO neighborhoodMonday 19th Oct
CHEO was in my backyard growing up. In fact, every day, in high school and university, I was on the bus that circled the hospital campus. My mom worked at the nearby Veteran’s Home. My dad, a welder, worked on some of the buildings too.
Today, three generations walked together. My race took me from my childhood home to CHEO. I wanted to recognize the amazing work CHEO does for kids throughout Eastern Ontario, especially those who need mental health support.
Turns out door to door it’s only 1.5 km. So, we continued our trek and rediscovered the area - so many new health facilities. The field where I used to pick strawberries in, ice skate and chase polliwogs sure has changed. Plus we enjoyed a beautiful sunset!
Thanks for those who supported me today. I’ll walk (or bike) another 10+ km tomorrow. JShare
