The charity I am supporting is the All Stars Project.
Charities need us more than ever and that is why I’ve signed up for the first-ever global, virtual RBC Race for the Kids to raise much-needed funds for youth charities around the world.
The All Stars Project works with over 20,000 inner-city young people and their families every year, helping create new possibilities for themselves and teaching them the skills they’ll need to reach them. Through their innovative and award-winning Development School for Youth (DSY) program, the All Stars partners with caring corporate partners (like RBC!) to teach high school students important professional skills like resume writing, public speaking, networking skills, and interview prep. And then when the young person completes this 14-week intensive program, they are linked up with a paid summer internship at a corporate partner. Over 5,000 young people have graduated from the program and RBC has sponsored almost 20 internships!
We need organizations like the All Stars Project now more than ever, which creates hope and opportunity for inner-city young people (the majority of who are young people of color impacted by poverty) and partner with caring adults to do it. The All Stars works to bring people together who don’t normally come together through their programs and workshops, with the hopes of creating genuine relationships and conversations as a way to build bridges and better understanding—something I believe in and care about!
Thank you from me and all the RBC Race for the Kids participants and charities!
