What is RBC Race for the Kids?

add remove

Since starting as a single Race in New York in 2009, RBC Race for the Kids has grown into a series of 17 events that take place around the world. Altogether, 325,000+ participants have raised more than CAD$74 million for youth charities.

Covid-19 meant the 2020 series was at risk with the majority of events facing cancellation. The need from charities, particularly those focused on youth mental health, was greater than ever before so we adapted and hosted the first global and virtual Race weekend.

The 2021 RBC Race for the Kids campaign welcomed 35 charities, inclusive of all 17 existing Race Locations, 12 repeat 2020 Charities and an additional six net-new locations/charities. Altogether, 2021 saw over 35,000 entrants and raised more than CAD$8.3 million for youth charities across the global footprint.

In 2022 RBC will be offering a hybrid format including virtual and in-person races. Races will be held at different times throughout the year, participants can check out the list of global events to pick their local race.

How do I log my activity?

add remove

You can log your distance in two ways:

  • Link your page to a fitness tracker

We are linked to Fitbit, MapMyFitness, and Garmin which automatically sync with your fundraising page. It adds to your kilometre tracker each time you record an activity – training or Race weekend!

You can use your smartphone to download Fitbit, mapmyfitness or Strava to get started. After creating an account with your preferred app, login to your account and head to the ‘My Fitness Activity’ tab to connect to your fitness app and follow the promptsto connect your account.

Your distance will be published on your page the following day (please allow up to 24 hours).

Note for Fitbit users – you must ‘start’ an activity and save it as an activity (ie. your daily steps or distance will not be automatically added to your page).

  • Log your distance manually

To log your distance manually, simply login to your online fundraising page and head to the ‘My Fitness Activity’ to record your activity.
