The UWI Raises Funds for Students

Over the past five years, with assistance from the RBC Race for the Kids, The UWI has been able to provide scholarships and other grants for students in financial need. This aid is needed now more than ever. The coronavirus pandemic has left many Caribbean families facing financial hardship and mental strain. The eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in April of 2021 greatly exacerbated these challenges for many.

We need your support to continue programs that help our students pay fees, purchase technology, equipment, school supplies, food and cover other basic living expenses. Student mental health is still our number one priority as we raise funds to provide timely interventions and meaningful support for our students.

A Global, Virtual, Family Fun Run Supporting Youth Charities Around the World

Since 2009, RBC Race for the Kids has grown to an exciting series of 17 charitable Races taking around the world, supporting kids and youth-focused causes. In total, 290,000+ participants have raised more than C$65 million.

In 2020, the series of in-person Races couldn’t happen so we pivoted to a global, virtual RBC Race for the Kids to continue raising much-needed funds for our charity partners. Last year, over 33,000 participants from 120+ countries raised more than C$8.8 million!

Join us and participants from all around the globe to raise awareness and support for our 35 charity partners in 19 countries – and the young people they help during this challenging time.
