BC Children’s is the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to the care of children. That means one million kids—including some of the sickest and most seriously injured—count on the hospital for specialized care they often can’t receive anywhere else. Last year, nearly 100,000 patients visited the hospital—which not only includes its acute care centre, but also its research institute, mental health facility and rehabilitation centre.
On June 6, we took an important step forward together in our quest to conquer childhood illnesses. Through your active involvement in RBC Race for the Kids: Home Edition, you played an enormous role in helping to improve childhood cancer and mental health care at BC Children’s Hospital. Along the way, we also hope that you and your family discovered new and creative ways to promote your well-being and stay active.
When it comes to the race to improve the health of kids, there is no finish line. We're excited to come together once again for the global, virtual RBC Race for the Kids. Join fellow RBC employees and the global community today by registering to run on October 16-17, supporting BC Children's Hospital Foundation.

A Global, Virtual, Family Fun Run Supporting Youth Charities Around the World
Since 2009, RBC Race for the Kids has grown to an exciting series of 17 charitable Races taking around the world, supporting kids and youth-focused causes. In total, 290,000+ participants have raised more than C$65 million.
In 2020, the series of in-person Races couldn’t happen so we pivoted to a global, virtual RBC Race for the Kids to continue raising much-needed funds for our charity partners. Last year, over 33,000 participants from 120+ countries raised more than C$8.8 million!
Join us and participants from all around the globe to raise awareness and support for our 35 charity partners in 19 countries – and the young people they help during this challenging time.

“By lacing up for the second time this year, RBC employees continue to inspire us with your stamina, passion and dedication to supporting youth mental health. More than 95,000 children and youth are affected by mental health issues across our province. That number alone is staggering—and it’s also one that’s expected to rise as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you, Team RBC, for helping to transform outcomes for kids and families by giving the brightest minds in pediatric mental health the tools they need to enhance the mental health and well-being of children, youth and families in BC.”
